Every summer we always go to the zoo and the water park. Well, we got two in one at this family attraction in Columbus, Ohio. We stayed at Hilton Columbus Downtown Hotel ( check out our experience here ). I’ve never been to a zoo that has a water park. So this is something new to us and it’s actually a really great idea. Kudos to the city Columbus who came up with this concept.
Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is huge and they have a lot of animals. About 10,000 animals in six distinct regions. From Australia, North America, Asia, Africa, Shores and Congo. You will be surprise of the things to see and do at the zoo. They also have a big playground , splash pad for kids, 4-d theater and rides for the whole family at Jungle Jack’s Landing – that have 13 family fun rides. The rides at Jungle Jack’s Landing are not included in the Zoo entrance fee, every ride in the zoo you have to pay but it doesn’t really cost you a lot. It’s either $1 or $2. You can also get a wristband to do ALL the rides and 4-d theater for $14.99, not bad at all ! They also offer Zoo experiences like giraffe feeding, animal rescue show and discovery sea diver . There is so much you can do! I attached the map of the attraction at the bottom of this post.
Here is a tip. Right when you enter the zoo, be sure to buy the souvenir bottle. FREE refills all throughout the day and only $.93 refill for the whole season, available at most locations. Guys, it’s totally worth it. I can’t count how many times we refilled that bottle. It was so hot and we were always thirsty. It’s so important to be hydrated.
After our zoo adventure, we went to the water park. It was so hot that day. So Zoombezi Bay waterpark is just perfect to end our day. Well, actually it’s another start of a new adventure. Right when we got in,the kids were so excited to get on the water slides. They surely can’t wait.
Zoombezi Bay have 17 waterslides and they also have private cabanas. For your convenience, they have ZOOMPASS . It is a virtual reservation system that holds your place in line electronically while you enjoy doing other fun things in the park, when you are almost time an alert is sent to your ZOOMBAND. This is perfect during the weekends when it’s more crowded, totally worth it.
We spend most of our time at Baboon Lagoon , it’s great for our 10 years old and 5 years old kids. They have smaller slides for little ones and bigger slides for bigger kids. Even my husband did the 48″ slides and have a great ol’ time. Our favorite, the 1,000 gallon tipping bucket water. My family is a sucker for amusement rides and water parks. It’s our thing every summer and we feel so grateful to experienced all these at Columbus, Ohio.
Thank you so much for reading and i cannot wait to show you more of our family travels. I hope this blog post serves you on your next family adventure at Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and Zoombezi Bay.
