One of the biggest holidays here in the US is the 4th of July or Independence day. I’m not born or raised in the US but i’m naturalized here. My husband and kids are the ones that are born and raised here . So naturally we celebrate this holiday annually, one of the favorite things we love to do is to go watch a firework show. In the Philippines, our biggest firework show is New Year’s Eve but here in the United States, it’s the 4th of July. A lot of homes do fireworks, we did it a couple times before but i suggest going to a fireworks show, it is better and more safer, except it’s crowded. Most shows have activities all day for the family until the fireworks begin. It is a lot of fun most especially for the kids. It’s also a great tradition for the kids to remember. Even though i don’t have all the luxury growing up, my family made sure our memory tank is full. We were always doing something especially around the summer. I had a great childhood together with my siblings and my cousins that i grew up with. We don’t lived far from each other so we often played a lot together. We have instant play dates. Unlike nowadays, scheduling a play date is such a chore. I think you know what i mean and i would just say “Those were the days”. I think if you are in your 30’s like me, we are the last generation that it’s safe to ride your bike anywhere and just comes home when it starts to get dark. You can’t do that nowadays, it’s not safe.
Anyway, let’s talk about our 4th of July outfits. I know, i know… the United States flag is not polka dots but hey it’s blue. I don’t think i necessarily have to look like a flag but a theme of red, white and blue colors should be good enough. I wanna look Patriotic but not a flag, there is nothing wrong with it and i’m not judging anyone, it’s just my preference. Plus, we already have these outfits there is no point of going out to get new ones when you have something you already have. So pretty much, just play with the color scheme. I’m sure you have a blue, white and red somewhere in your closet.
If you are interested to know my review about this blue polka dot dress , it is made of chiffon material. So it’s lightweight and super comfortable. It is definitely perfect for summer picnic at the park, going out for brunch or dinner. You can wear it with flats during the day and your stilletos at night. So definitely very versatile. I also love the ruffle details because you know me, anything that’s ruffles and flowy gets me excited.
