Setting a Semi-Formal Thanksgiving Tablescape Idea + How to make a Charcuterie Board

Every year on the blog, i feature holiday tablescapes idea. Check out my  last year’s post. This year i wanted to do something different for my Thanksgiving tablescape idea. I wanted to feature food as my centerpiece. After all, Thanksgiving is all about food ! So i serve something simple, easy and also appealing like a Charcuterie board , semi-homemade pumpkin pie, rolls and french macarons.

Charcaturie board is a tray  of meats, dips, cheese, crackers and fruits. Totally a no fuss easy party snack with a combination of different flavors. It’s such a gorgeous spread and a great centerpiece idea. I dressed it with candles, faux foliage, string lights and other party food so it looks more appealing. There are different versions of course, it differs with the kind of meat, cheese, crackers and fruits you are serving. But i’m sharing you the basics of what a charcuterie board consist of. Sky is the limit of how creative you are with your spread.

How to Make a Charcuterie Board

  1. Meat – it depends on how many people you are having but you can mix 2-3 kinds of meat like prosciutto, ham or salami.
  2. Cheese – chose variety of cheeses like hard, soft, mellow, sharp, hot and spicy. It’s easy to serve when it’s already sliced.
  3. Crackers or toasted bread – again chose variety of crackers and toasted baguettes.
  4. fruits – you can go either fresh fruits, dried fruits or both. I love the fresh fruits with my cheese platter and they always looks so pretty.
  5. Nuts – I love the combination of nuts with the spread. Make sure it’s shelled and salted.
  6. Dips, jams or pickles – you can do either spinach dip , pickles or fruit preserves like jams.

That’s it ! Like i said, it’s easy to make and you can go as creative as you want with your spread.

Now back to the tablescape, the concept here is to make it look like a pumpkin patch. That explains the fabric pumpkins, faux foliage, nature and wood elements. I don’t want to make it too formal, i want it casual and laid back but presentable.
