It’s been awhile I haven’t posted fashion blog post or any personal blog post in particular. Life has been pretty hectic lately and time management got out of hand. I will announce one day what I have been working on lately. As for now, it’s still on the works on navigating through this new kind of venture. That’s it for now.
In this post I would like to talk about this petite friendly outfit. Standing at 4’11, it is challenging to find cute petite clothes. Not a lot of brands carry petite sizing. The ones i know and also my favorites are Banana Republic, Topshop, Loft , Asos, J.Crew and a new discovery here, Petite Studio. I actually buy more on non-petites because there are so many styles to choose from. It seems like the styles they carry for petites are somehow limited.
Asymmetric top and Paper bag pants
Like for example this top that i bought here is from Zara, it’s actually a crop top but since I have a shorter torso than an average girl, then it fits like a regular top on me. Talking about winning here !
Same goes with my paper bag pants, it’s not petites either. I believe it’s an ankle crop pants but it’s not crop on me because again i’m short. I don’t want ankle crop to begin with since I want that 90’s trousers look. Winning again.
But you see that’s not the case all the time. It’s always a challenge, especially when I shop at Zara. I swear I haven’t bought a dress there yet, the torso are always long. So i always went for separates at Zara’s.
Wide Leg Jeans
I’ve been looking for a wide leg jeans that have that retro fit and not cropped on me. I’m so glad I found this at Gap, I couldn’t believe it. It’s actually an ankle length for a regular girl but obviously not on me and it’s definitely one of my favorite purchase. The only downside, it doesn’t look good on me with sneakers. Either that or I’m just over thinking. Besides i’m not really a sneakers kind of gal.
Mom Jeans for Petites
I’ve been influenced with this mom jeans craze, blame it on Instagram. So i went hunting and I can’t seem to find one that’s great for petites. So glad i found one at Topshop. They carry petite sizing too and their jeans for petites actually have a great fit. No alterations needed plus no weird fit around the waist and butt area. Not trying to be a model but just showing what it fits on a regular everyday woman.
Dresses for Petites
It is challenging to find petite dresses. The styles are limited, not all brands have petite version on all their items. So sometimes I end up shopping on regular size. Just like for example, this dress from Dress the Population. They don’t have petites but the torso of this particular dress fits perfect on me. I wasn’t very particular on the length since i want it to be midi anyway. Again, i got lucky on this one but one sure brand that carry great petite size is Banana Republic and J.Crew dresses. I also shop at junior section for dresses which is also good, but i don’t want to look trying to hard to be a teenybopper. So as much as possible i don’t buy dresses from the juniors section.
