I had my days when I bought a cheap trench coat, I washed them once or twice. On the next use it doesn’t look right anymore. When it comes to outerwear it’s quality over quantity and since you will be spending $$, pick ones that goes with almost anything in your wardrobe. In my case, I picked out this trench coat from Banana Republic, it is lightweight and also padded inside to keep you warm. What I love most about it, is the fit. I rarely find coats that fit good or maybe I’m just not good in finding coats but I totally got lucky in this one. Unfortunately, it is sold out online but you could probably buy this in store. I found mine in store. Silk top – it is definitely not cold weather friendly but it is so classy. For me, silk tops cami is here to stay forever. There is something about it that is so elegant, classic and sexy at the same time. Another way to style them in this cold weather is to put a shirt underneath your silk cami just like the ones here . I think that is really cute, it reminds me of the 90’s. Dressy jogger pants – not your usual basics but can add a little spice rather than your usual jeans or trousers. I bought mine last year at Loft in xxs petites. Most joggers runs big, just the way it’s designed. So, if you are Small get an X-Small that way it will snug a bit on your legs and looks dressy. High heels with straps – I love heels with straps especially when the straps is nude in color. Nude shoes gives an illusion of length. 3 Tips on How To Look Tall in a Chunky Cardigan
First and foremost let me squeeze in a little introduction and share to you a little something about my love for fashion. Why do I love fashion? For me it’s a form of art, it’s creating something out of nothing, out of what you already have into something. Styling outfits is not like a Pulitzer prize kind of thing but it’s still a form of art, an expression. Some of you will probably find me silly and think of it as a superficial thing. It is indeed, but for us people who loves and follow it aren’t necessarily. I don’t dressed up with high end brands from head to toe because I’m not rich. Most of all, my relationship with people and real friendships doesn’t rely on clothing either. I repurpose and redone my clothes many times because of my height and body type. Simply put, Fashion is a way of expressing ourselves. It’s like people who expresses their love on video games,cars,collectibles,make-up,crafts,baking,videography,writing etc. It is just a matter of how passionate we are, what platform we express it or if we choose to express it. Also, through computers and internet there is a rise of new jobs. You see a lot people right now working at home. In this day of age, we are given with so many options and it’s up to us on what direction to take. Now, Let’s talk about ….. How To Look Tall in a Chunky Cardigan if you are Petite Monotone outfit from top to bottom – If you are 5 ft tall or less, chunky cardigan is truly not your best friend. But if you like the style and you want to pull it off , pick a dominant color from your cardigan and use that as a base color of your outfit. Wear high heels – This is pretty much self- explanatory, you always look tall in heels. But an extra tip, make it the same color as your outfit if you are wearing a chunky cardigan. The ankle boots would define or emphasize my short legs if I was wearing a different color boots. It cuts the illusion of elongation. Less is more – When styling a chunky cardigan, you want to make it look sleek. It’s already bulky enough, you don’t need extra bulk, extra bling, it will look too busy. Autumn Favorites
Hey guys ! It’s Saks off 5th friends and family sale! I really get excited when one of my favorite stores is having a major sale. I picked out a few of my favorites for this fall season. Right now, I have a major crush on that structured vest in olive green color. I always love olive green for fall and winter because I like to add color on my winter wardrobe. I think I owned only one black coat and I rarely dressed all black. I also love the comeback of cropped collutes jeans, they look so cool and chic especially when it’s paired with mules. I am 4’11 , So we will see how it goes with that one. I have to try that style in the fitting room one day. Cold Shoulder Dress
I have a thing about prints, dresses and feminine details. I don’t know why, I’m just drawn to it. With the influx of minimalist style, it’s quite tempting to try it and I did, on fitting rooms. But it just doesn’t speak to me. I guess I’m a 100% girly girl in tutus and lace. As a stay at home mom of two, I don’t normally dressed up like this on a daily basis. But when I do, it’s refreshing. When I became a mom, I just realized that the things I do before having kids, like dressing up and putting make up on is like a normal thing. Now that I’m a mom, getting ready is a big deal and getting dressed up like this is a treat. Off the shoulder and cold shoulder dresses/ tops are hitting waves right now and the possibilities are endless with this one. I can dress it up with flats, heels and boots. Also, I like that I don’t have to worry about riding up my shoulders when I carry Olivia. This dress by the way, is by LC Lauren Conrad from Kohls , it’s not petite but I’m glad it fits just right on me. Her line is very feminine which I love but most of her dresses have long torso though, especially for a petite woman like me. Sometimes, I get lucky just like this dress. Boots and Booties Season

Fashion truly doesn’t make up its mind doesn’t it? It’s always changing that’s why it’s always fun. Before the rise of the skinny jeans in the early 2000’s, my closet is filled with flared jeans. I paired it with everything from baby tees , peasant tops and when I’m feeling girly I pair it with off the shoulder tops. An exact replica of my outfit here. As I looked at myself in the mirror, it reminds back to the time when I was in college with my two aunts (I call them my fairy god mothers) they took me and my cousins out for shopping. She picked out a bunch of off the shoulder tops for me and also some little trinkets that goes with it. As a teenager growing up, my mom and my two aunts were my greatest fashion and beauty influencers. They are my go to fashion advisers and my aunts were also my part-time fashion financiers. It was fun hanging out with my aunts, aside from listening to them brainstorming of what’s in or out in fashion, I know I won’t be going home empty handed. I always get something, either an item from their closets, a good deal they scored from one of their shopping trips or they just feel like buying me something nice while we were shopping. In return, I clean their rooms or run errands for them. Even though, I know I don’t have to do things for them because I know they would give it to me anyway. I just want them to feel appreciated in that way. My mom on the other hand is my greatest confident booster (I wish she is still here in this world), I never ever ever recalled her pointing out any part of my body or within myself that is negative. She always instill positive attitude. One of the things that she said about positive thinking is that, being positive is not just about being happy or showing an upbeat attitude or ignoring life’s unpleasant situation. It means you approach life’s unpleasantness in a more positive and productive way. It’s a lot of self talk basically. If the thoughts that run through your head are mostly negative, then your outlook towards life will be pessimistic. On the other way around, if the thoughts that run through your head are mostly positive, then you will be optimistic. It will greatly reflect our actions that is more valuable than a smile. Those were one of her many wise words. These strong beautiful women taught me to not let anyone define me, but only me. They significantly have an impact of what I am now and I feel so blessed. If you feel like in a rut right now, get up and do something for yourself that would make you feel good and productive. Surround yourself with people that are good for your pysche, we are too old to mess around. Life is short, we don’t know when is our finish line. So right now, let yourself be free and live life the way you want, even in your darkest moment, you have to seek that light to find the light. Now, I’m not trying to be some kind of a self-help-guru-kind-of-thing here. I’m no expert of any but I’m just sharing of what I think and feel. I hope you find that a bit helpful too. Talking about fashion, I really love the flare trend and It’s something that I want to keep for awhile. Anything that would make me look tall, I’m down. I have to admit my height is one of my greatest insecurities and I make it up by wearing clothes that would make me look a little taller and this flare jeans is an example of it. Everywhere you go and everything you see at an online website , it’s all about Fall/Autumn. That also means my favorite shopping holiday is just around the corner as well. Me and one of my best gals favorite shopping tradition around that time of the season are black Friday and cyber Monday . We just shop like crazy because that’s the time you could get really good deals. Even if shopping season is still months away, I like to window shop and see what’s hot or not. I’m not the type who follows every trend because some of them are not my style, not suited on my petite frame or something that would not stay that long. I’m already in my 30’s .
